PEORIA, Ill – The IUPUI volleyball team will begin the 2023 regular season with a three-match invitational at Bradley. The Jags will face Eastern Michigan on Friday (Aug. 25) at 4:00 PM to kick off the two-day event. IUPUI will then face SIUE and Bradley on Saturday (Aug. 26).
 
The Jaguars are led by head coach Andrew Kroger, who enters his first season at the helm. The prowl returned a strong core of two seniors, three juniors and one sophomore. Seniors Brooke Phillips and Emily Alan along with juniors Addie Evans, Sidney Veatch and Briana Brown and sophomore Morgan Ostrowski will provide a veteran perspective to the program as the Jaguar coaching staff brought in seven newcomers.
 
The incoming class features seven freshman and one sophomore transfer. Grace Purichia, Maia Long, Ava Harris, Brynn Zastrow, Kennedy Seputis and Kate White make up the incoming freshman class while Katy McCaffrey joins the Jags after spending her freshman season at Kenyon College.
 
"It's an interesting dynamic, one that is unique and one that I have never been a part of where we have more new people than returners but its worked out really well," said Kroger.  "Our returners have done an amazing job of showing our new people the ropes and how things are done. They set that example for being great Jaguars and our freshman bring in a really exciting, youthful energy that I think will help us move this program forward."
 
The Jaguars will face Eastern Michigan at 4:00 PM on Friday, Aug. 25, then matchup against SIUE on Saturday, Aug. 26 with first serve at 11:00 AM. They wrap up the weekend against host, Bradley on Saturday, Aug. 26. First serve is set for 7:00 PM on ESPN+.
