INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and the Director of Athletics Luke Bosso have announced the hiring of Andrew Kroger as the Jaguars next head volleyball coach. Kroger joins the Jaguars after serving as an assistant coach for Ohio University during the 2022 season. During his lone season at Ohio, the Bobcats recorded a 20-12 overall record and 13-5 mark in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).

"Andrew is the right person at the right time to lead the IUPUI volleyball program," Bosso said. "He brings incredible vision, leadership and passion to the program and has deep ties to the Midwest. With the talent in this state, I know he will have the Jaguars competing for Horizon League Championships."

"I would like to thank Athletic Director Luke Bosso and the search committee for their belief in me to lead the IUPUI volleyball program," Kroger said. "I am thrilled to work alongside a talented group of student-athletes, dedicated staff and a supportive administration to build a winning environment both on and off the court. Go Jags!"

Kroger brings 12 years of Division I coaching experience including a one-year stint as the interim head coach for the University of North Alabama and seven years at La Salle. At La Salle, Kroger started as an assistant coach in 2014 and was eventually promoted to head coach in 2019. He led the La Salle program to the 2019 National Invitational Volleyball Championship, which was the first post-season appearance in program history. He went 20-17 in two seasons leading the Explorers

While at La Salle, Kroger had three players named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team with another student-athlete earning A-10 Rookie of the Week honors. He also helped lead the Explorers to their highest Atlantic 10 winning percentage in program history in 2017. Shortly after COVID-19, La Salle dropped its volleyball program, along with six other sports.

He later guided North Alabama as interim head coach for the 2021 season.

A Cincinnati-native and graduate of Xavier University, Kroger began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant at Villanova in 2011, where he spent three seasons.

He is expected to begin duties on July 10.
