HOMEWOOD, Ill. – The IUPUI women's tennis team fell to Horizon League foe Chicago State on Saturday afternoon, 5-2. The Jags earned the doubles point in the loss.
Meghan Bernard and
Samantha Hayward continued their dominate partnership with a 6-2 win at the number one doubles spot.
Sarah Lounsbury and
Marta Krakowski sealed the doubles point with a 6-3 win in the number three spot.
After taking the 1-0 lead, the Jags fell in five out of the six singles matches. Krakowski won at number six singles due to a Chicago State forfeit. Bernard fell at number on singles, 6-3, 7-5 while Hayward lost at number two singles, 6-2, 7-5.
Emma Dell took her match to three sets but fell in the number three spot, 6-0. 3-6, 6-3.
Grace Lampman lost in the number four spot, 6-2, 6-3 while Lounsbury lost at number five singles, 6-4, 6-2.
The Jags close out the season tomorrow, Sunday, April 23 at 1:00 PM when they face Milwaukee.
