MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The IUPUI women's tennis team finished out the 2023 season at Milwaukee on Sunday.
Sarah Lounsbury earned a singles point as the Jags fell, 6-1.
The Panthers took the early 1-0 lead with the doubles point.
Meghan Bernard and
Samantha Hayward fell in the number one spot, 6-2 while
Emma Dell and
Grace Lampman fell at number two doubles, 6-2.
Sarah Lounsbury and
Marta Krakowski kept their undefeated season as their number three match went unfinished at 4-4.
In singles play, Lounsbury earned the sole point for the Jags with a number five singles win, 6-3, 6-4. Bernard fell in the number one spot, 7-6, 6-0 while Hayward fell at number two singles, 6-1, 6-2. Dell lost at number three singles, 7-6, 6-4 and Lampman fell in the number four spot, 6-3, 6-4. Krakowski rounded out the lineup in the number six spot falling, 6-1, 6-4.
Overall, the IUPUI women's tennis team has battled through injuries and adversity to finish the season 9-16 and 0-6 in Horizon League play. Hayward finished the season with a combined 30 wins, Lounsbury finished with 32 and Bernard finished with 32.
