INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team celebrated senior day on Saturday afternoon with the seniors coming up big with singles points for a 5-2 Horizon League victory over Youngstown State. Seniors
Tom Ciszewski,
Alex Jochim and
Colton Morehart each recorded a singles point while sophomore
Noah Viste locked in the fourth singles point.
IUPUI took the doubles point to take the early lead, 1-0. The partnership of Cizewski and
Kamil Kozerski earned the first doubles win at number three doubles, 6-2 with Jochim and
Emil Jankowski sealing the point with a number one doubles win, 6-3.
With the early lead the Jags earned four out of the six singles points. Ciszewski earned the point at number one doubles, 7-5, 6-2. Senior Jochim earned his singles point in the number two spot in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2. Morehart took the number three singles point, 7-5, 6-2 while sophomore Viste earned the number six singles point in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.
Kozerski fell at number four singles, 6-4, 6-3 and
Eli Mercer lost in the number five spot, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
IUPUI is now 2-4 in conference and will host Cleveland State tomorrow, Sunday, April 16 at West Indy with first serve set for 6:00 PM.
