INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department continued its excellence in NCAA academic metrics as the Jaguars recorded a departmental Graduation Success Rate of 94 percent, as released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Dec. 6). Every IUPUI program outpaced federal rates with seven different programs registering perfect GSR scores for the 2013-2016 cohort while IUPUI's 94 percent mark was tops in the Horizon League and third among Division I programs in the state of Indiana.
In addition, IUPUI student-athletes outperformed the general IUPUI student population, graduating at an 82 percent clip against the university-wide 57 percent mark.
The IUPUI men's soccer and tennis and women's basketball, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball programs all earned a perfect score of 100 percent.
"We're incredibly proud of the work our student-athletes do in the classroom to rank among the best on our campus and to outperform their peers. These numbers reflect the hard work of our student-athletes, coaches and academic staff. When we recruit student-athletes in any of our sports, the expectation is that they're provided a first-rate Division I experience and they leave here with their degree," Director of Athletics Luke Bosso said. "These numbers substantiate that. Our goal is to continue to build on a long history of academic success."
The IUPUI women's cross country and track and field program earned a 95 percent mark while the men's basketball and cross country and track and field program closed at 93 percent.
