IUPUI FALLS IN #HLWBB MATCHUP AGAINST MILWAUKEE, 70-59

Katie Davidson led the offense with 20 points

INDIANAPOLIS – Junior Kate Davidson totaled 20 points in the Jaguars' loss to Horizon League foe Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon, 70-59. Injury continues to hinder the Jags as IUPUI had just eight healthy bodies on the court today.

The Jags have lost their last seven games but throughout injury and adversity, IUPUI has continued to fight late in games. With just eight players dressed today, the Jags fought to bring the game within four in the final quarter.

Milwaukee came out strong taking an 9-2 lead, forcing the Jags to call a time out. IUPUI then went on an 12-2 run to take the lead at 14-11 but it was the last time the Jags would hold the lead as the Panthers finished the first quarter on a 10-0 run.

The Jags shot just 12.5 percent from the field in the second quarter while the Panthers shot 30.8 percent to maintain the lead at 35-24. IUPUI got off to a slow start in the third quarter but finished strong the last eight points to cut the lead to 54-41.

Down 13 heading into the fourth quarter, the Jags cut the lead to six with four minutes to go with a three from Camron Blank. IUPUI couldn't continue to get their shots to sink and ultimately fell, 70-59.

Junior Davidson led the offense with 20 points shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. She also added four assists and three rebounds. Jaela Johnson totaled 12 points, four assists and three points while Abby Wolterman collected a team-high six rebounds. Blank had her best game of the season with eight points, four rebounds and a team-high three steals.

The Jags shot 32.1 percent from the field but earned a 94.4 percent from the free throw line while holding the Panthers to 30.0 percent from three. The Jaguars defense also forced 22 turnovers from Milwaukee.

IUPUI is now 0-2 in Horizon League play and will take a break from conference play as they travel to Evansville on Wednesday, December 6. The Jags and Aces will tipoff at 7:00 PM.
