MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The IUPUI women's basketball team opened up a two-game road trip on Friday night when they fell to the Robert Morris Colonials. Ten Jaguars recorded minutes against RMU and each one recorded at least one basket with
Jaela Johnson and
Abby Wolterman leading the offense with eight points each.
Robert Morris took the lead early in the first quarter 17-13 and the Jags couldn't come back. The Colonials spread the lead in the second quarter shooting 41.2 percent from the floor with IUPUI shot just 21.4%.
IUPUI had their best quarter in the third shooting 44.4 percent but turnovers hurt the Jags as they had eight in just the third. Robert Morris capitalized off those turnovers during the game with 26 points off those mistakes.
Turnovers were costly for the Jags as they had 29 total turnovers while IUPUI forced 19 from the Colonials.
IUPUI had ten Jags touch the floor with each one recording points. Wolterman and Johnson led the offense with eight points while
Jazmyn Turner totaled seven points and five rebounds.
Faith Stinson led in rebounds with six while Johnson had three assists.
The Jaguars are now 2-10 overall with a 0-3 mark in Horizon League play. They continue their road trip when they face Youngstown State on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
