INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and Director of Athletics Luke Bosso have announced that head men's soccer coach Sid van Druenen has inked a two-year contract extension, keeping him on the Jaguars' sidelines through 2025. In his two seasons with the Jaguars, van Druenen has guided the program to back-to-back Horizon League Tournament berths, marking the first time IUPUI has played in consecutive league tournaments since 2009 and 2010.

"We're excited to announce Sid's extension and reward him for his work with the program. He's quickly built our program into a perennial contender for Horizon League titles, while also maintaining a commitment to academic excellence and community service," Bosso said. "The culture of the program is incredibly strong and his relationships he builds and fosters with his student-athletes permeates that culture. Personally, I'm excited to see Sid take the program to new heights."

van Druenen led IUPUI to a 7-7-6 mark and the program's first Horizon League Tournament runner-up finish in his first season in 2022. The Jaguars followed up with a 7-7-5 record this past season and a spot in the Horizon League Tournament semifinals. In addition, IUPUI has been honored by United Soccer Coaches with Team Academic Awards in each of his seasons and boasted 10 All-Horizon League performers and two different All-Region honorees.

"I want to thank Luke and university leadership for the confidence and trust shown in me with this extension. I am excited to continue to build off the first two seasons here with the goal of winning the Horizon League and playing in the NCAA Tournament," van Druenen said. "It's an awesome time to be a Jag and it feels great to be part of a growing athletic department under a new identity as IU Indianapolis."

In addition to his 14-14-11 overall mark, van Druenen's teams have gone 8-4-6 in Horizon League play in his two seasons.
