MEN'S SOCCER TO HOST NO. 6 WRIGHT STATE IN #HLMSOC TOURNEY QUARTERS

No. 3 Jaguars (6-6-5) to take on the Raiders (4-8-5) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 5)

INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer team will open the Horizon League Tournament on Sunday (Nov. 5) with a first round matchup with No. 6 Wright State (4-8-5) at the on-campus Michael A. Carroll Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Sunday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and tickets will be sold only at the main gate on-site on Sunday with adult tickets for $5 and youth tickets (12-and-under) for $2. 

Head coach Sid van Druenen's team enters the postseason as the No. 3 seed, having gone 6-6-5 in the regular season and 4-2-3 in Horizon League play. The Jaguars went 3-3-2 at home in eight home contests this season. 

Lukas Hackaa and Josemir Gomez each scored a team-high seven goals during the regular season while Logan Finnegan chimed in with four markers. Hackaa also delivered a team-high five assists, putting him among the Horizon League leaders with 19 total points. In goal, graduate student Lucas Morefield was brilliant in Horizon League play, registering a 0.79 goals against average and .774 save percentage with a 4-2-2 record and three shutouts. 

QUOTABLE
"Grabbing the goal was great but unfortunately we couldn't keep the lead and see out the game. We're all looking forward to the (Horizon League) tournament now," said sophomore Brady Horn following the Jaguars' 1-1 draw at Purdue Fort Wayne in the regular season finale. 

SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State finished the regular season at 4-8-5 overall and 3-4-2 in Horizon League play, earning the No. 6 seed. Reece Allbaugh tallied a team-high five goals and 12 points (5g, 2a) in 14 games and Cole Werthmuller tallied four goals. WSU had 10 different goal scorers in the regular season and was outscored as a team, 30-22, this season. In goal, Alessandro Malterer played the majority of the team's minutes, posting a 4-4-3 mark with a 1.37 goals against average and 50 saves in his 13 appearances. 

AGAINST THE RAIDERS
IUPUI is 6-18-1 all-time against Wright State and 5-8 in 13 meetings in Indianapolis. The Jaguars are unbeaten in their last four matchups with the Raiders, going 3-0-1 in that span, including eliminating the Raiders from the Horizon League Tournament Semifinals a season ago by a 3-0 score. IUPUI won the regular season meeting between the two sides on Sept. 9 this season, 2-0, as Logan Finnegan tallied a pair of goals in the victory. 

UP NEXT
With a win, IUPUI would take on No. 2 Green Bay in the second semifinal of the Horizon League Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. in Rochester, Mich. With a loss, IUPUI's season would come to an end.
