DAYTON, Ohio - The IU Indianapolis men's soccer team will hit the road one final time for the 2026 season on Friday (Oct. 30) when the Jaguars trek to Wright State (6-7-2, 4-3-1 HL) for a 7:00 p.m. kick on ESPN+. Wright State had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 road loss at Robert Morris last week while the Jaguars are coming off a tough 2-1 road loss at Green Bay.
Head coach
Keegan Boom's team tried to play road spoiler at Green Bay and pulled even on a
Jayden Quezada goal in the game's 31st minute before yielding the game-winning free kick in the 66th minute. Quezada netted his first score of the year off an assist from rookie
Cobe Hamler. Senior
Jose Antonio Herrera leads the team in goals with five while
Santiago Sanchez and Hamler have a team-high two assists. Rookie goalkeeper
Peter Field has been the team's No. 1 keeper with a 1.56 goals against average and .756 save percentage.
Herrera, Sanchez and junior midfielder
Jai Dindiyal are the only three Jaguars to have started all 14 matches while three others -
Jago Thompson-Roberts,
Luke Gonda and
Noah Kummrow - have started 13 times along the back line. Herrera, Sanchez and
Thomas Weinrich pace the IU Indy attack, each having attempted at least 20 shots on the season.
QUOTABLE
"Today is another really good performance from the boys. We have hit the posts multiple times and are very close to getting a positive result. We are learning tough lessons in every game, but the group remains optimistic with the ability we continue to show. Next up is a good Wright State side that we will be excited to play against," Boom said following the 2-1 loss at Green Bay.
