INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Volleyball team fell 0-2 on the second day to finish third overall in the 2022 Hampton Inn Invitational. The Jags fell to Drake and Montana in three sets on Saturday.
 
IUPUI fell to Drake in straight sets in the first match of the day, 3-0. The Jags fell behind early, losing the first set 25-14. Drake built onto the momentum defeating IUPUI in set two, 25-17 and finished the match with a 25-17 set three.
 
The Jags lowered their service errors to just five total errors. Addie Evans continued to lead the Jags defense with 11 digs followed by Darragh Dixon with 10. Dixon also added 16 assists. Briana Brown totaled eight kills and seven digs.
 
In match two of the day the Jags fell to Montana, 3-0.
 
Montana took the early lead with a first set victory, 25-18. Brown led in the first set with four kills and Dixon recorded six assists. The Griz outhit the Jags 17 kills to IUPUI's nine. IUPUI fought back in the second set, tying the match three different times but ultimately fell, 25-23. The Jags totaled 13 kills in set two.
 
The Griz went on a 10-3 run to open set three and although the Jags fought back, IUPUI ultimately fell 25-11. Overall attack errors proved costly as the Jags committed 20 errors compared to Montana's seven.
 
Dixon finished the match with 16 assists and six digs while Evans totaled a team-high 18 digs. Brown recorded ten kills.
 
With the two loses, IUPUI finished third overall behind Drake (1^st) and Montana (2^nd), Saint Francis finished fourth. Addie Evans was named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
The Jags travel to Louisville next weekend for the Bellarmine Tournament.
