INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI softball team completed their last game at home against Green Bay on Saturday afternoon. The Jags fell to the Phoenix, 3-0.
Green Bay got on the board first after four scoreless innings with one run in the top of the fifth inning. With two runners on and two hits, Tiffany Giese singled to score one run, giving the Phoenix the lead.
In the top of the sixth inning Green Bay added two more insurance runs extending their lead to 3-0. Alicia Peters homered to left field to score two runs.
Lauren King (W, 3-5) had a perfect game going through 4.2 innings until
Jaylin Calvert singled through right side to break it up.
Madison Bryant (L, 5-20) took the loss on the mound for the Jags giving up three runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts. Calvert recorded the only hit of the game.
IUPUI will wrap up the season after trips to Oakland on Wednesday, May 4 and UIC on May 6-7.
