INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team dropped their second Horizon League match this weekend to Youngstown State, 4-3.
Alex Jochim and
Kamil Kozerski earned singles wins for the Jags.
IUPUI took the early lead earning the doubles point. Jochim and
Emil Jankowski won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-3, and
Colton Morehart and
Blessing Benibo sealed the doubles point with a No. 2 doubles win, 6-4.
The Penguins took four out of six singles points to seal the overall win. Jochim earned the No. 1 singles point in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. Freshman Kozerski won the No. 3 singles match in three sets after dropping the first set, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Sean Bailey dropped the No. 2 singles match, 2-6, 4-6, while Morehart fell at No. 4 singles in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 3-6. Benibo was in the third set when it ended in a withdrawal (6-2, 3-6, 1-1).
Canaan Sellers lost at No. 6 singles in two sets (0-6, 2-6).
The Jaguars are now 6-15 overall and 2-2 in conference. IUPUI will travel to UIC on Saturday (April 9) at 2:00 PM.
