INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 5-2 win over Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. Five Jaguars recorded singles wins.
NKU jumped out to an early lead earning the doubles point.
Sean Bailey and
Colton Morehart fell at No. 2 singles, 6-1, while Nicholas Moddy and
Kamil Kozerski fell at No. 3 singles, 6-3.
Alex Jochim and
Emil Jankowski were down 5-4 in the No. 1 spot when the match went unfinished.
The Jags rallied and took five out of six singles matches to earn the overall victory. Jochim earned the No. 1 singles win after dropping the first set (5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (8)). Kozerski won at No. 2 singles in two sets (6-2, 6-4). Bailey earned the No. 3 win (6-3, 6-1), Morehart won the No. 4 singles match (6-1, 6-4) and Noah Vise earned a singles win in the No. 6 spot (6-4, 6-0).
The men's team finishes the season 7-18 overall and 3-5 in the Horizon League. They will travel to Michigan to face Cleveland State on April 30 for the opening round on the Horizon League Tournament.
