INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team fell to Cleveland State snapping their perfect 2-0 Horizon League streak today, 7-0. The Jags are now 6-14 overall and 2-1 in conference.
The Vikings earned the doubles point, winning the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
Colton Morehart and
Blessing Benibo lost in the No. 2 spot (6-4) and the partnership of
Sean Bailey and
Kamil Kozerski fell in the No. 3 spot (6-3).
Cleveland State swept the singles matches to seal the 7-0 win.
Alex Jochim fell in the No. 1 spot (6-2, 6-0) and Bailey lost at No. 2 singles (7-5, 6-3). Freshman Kozerski lost a hard-fought match in three sets at No. 3 singles (3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7)). Morehart represented the Jags in the No. 4 spot falling (6-4, 6-1) while Benibo lost at No. 5 singles in three sets (2-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Nate Day rounded out the lineup at No. 6 singles and lost, 6-4, 6-3.
The Jags will close out the weekend tomorrow (Sunday, April 3) when they host Youngstown State at 2:30 PM.
