CLEVELAND, Ohio – The IUPUI men's tennis team fell 5-2 on Saturday morning at Cleveland State. The Jags took the early lead earning the doubles point but fell short in singles play.
The partnership of
Alex Jochim and
Emil Jankowski earned the No. 1 doubles win, 6-4, and
Kamil Kozerski and
Nicholas Moody sealed the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
With a 1-0 lead, the Jags fell short in singles play losing 5-1. Jochim was in the second set with a first set victory when his competitor retired giving Jochim the No. 1 singles win, 7-5, 1-5. Kozerski fell at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-3),
Sean Bailey lost at the No. 2 spot (6-4, 6-3) and
Colton Morehart fell at No. 3 singles (6-1, 7-5). Jankowski lost at No. 5 singles (6-2, 7-5) and Moody fell in the No. 6 spot (6-1, 6-4).
IUPUI is now 6-18 overall and 2-5 in Horizon League play. The Jags return home on April 24
th to finish out the regular season and take on the Northern Kentucky Norse at 11:00 AM.
