YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The IUPUI men's tennis team fell to Youngstown State on Friday, 5-2. Freshman
Kamil Kozerski and sophomore
Emil Jankowski each earned singles wins for the Jaguars.
The Penguins started the match off earning the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead. The partnership of
Alex Jochim and Jankowski fell in the No. 1 doubles spot, 6-1, while
Sean Bailey and
Colton Morehart fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-2.
Nicholas Moody and Kozerski were down 5-4 when the match went unfinished.
The Jaguars won two singles matches but it wasn't enough to make a comeback as the Penguins went on to win 5-2. Kozerski defeated Harry Fouzas in the No. 2 singles spot in three sets (6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7)) and Jankowski recorded the other point for the Jags at No. 5 singles in three sets (5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5)).
Jochim fell at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-2), Bailey fell at No. 3 singles (6-2, 6-4),
Colton Morehart fell at No. 4 singles in a hard-fought three sets (6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-4)) and
Noah Viste lost at No. 6 singles (6-3, 6-3).
IUPUI is now 6-17 overall and 2-4 in the Horizon League. They will be back in action tomorrow, April 16 at 10:00 AM when they travel to Cleveland State.
