INDIANAPOLIS – After winning the doubles point and No. 2 singles, the Jags fell to Youngstown State, 5-2.
The Jags took the lead winning the doubles point, the partnership of
Samantha Hayward and
Meghan Bernard won in the No. 1 doubles spot, 7-5.
Christina Stankovic and
Sarah Lounsbury won the No. 2 doubles match to clinch the doubles point, 7-5.
Youngstown State won five out of the six singles matches to seal the victory. IUPUI had to forfeit the No. 6 singles match giving the Penguins a one-point advantage. Bernard earned the sole singles point at No. 2 singles in two sets (7-6 (8-6), 6-4). Stankovic fell at the No. 1 spot (6-1, 6-4), Lounsbury fell at the No. 3 spot (6-0, 6-0), Hayward fell in the No. 4 spot (6-4, 6-0) and
Marta Krakowski fell at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-0).
The Jags are now 2-17 overall and 0-4 in the Horizon League. They travel to Oakland on Friday, April 15 to face the Golden Grizzles at 4:30 PM.
