ROCHESTER, Mich. – The IUPUI women's tennis team fell to Oakland on Friday afternoon, 6-1. Redshirt senior Meghan Bernard recorded the sole point for the Jaguars.
 
The Golden Grizzlies started out on top after earning the doubles point. Since the Jags are still playing with only five athletes, they had to forfeit No. 3 doubles. Christina Stankovic and Sarah Lounsbury fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, which sealed the doubles point for Oakland.
 
The Jags lost 5-1 in the singles competition to the Grizzlies. Bernard defeated Nirva Patel at No. 2 singles in two sets, 6-2, 6-3, to earn the lone point for the Jags.
 
At No. 1 singles, Christina Stankovic was down 3-0 in the first set when she retired. Sarah Lounsbury fell at No. 3 singles in three sets, 7-6, 6-1, 2-0. Samantha Hayward also lost in three sets but at the No. 4 spot, 4-6, 6-3, 10-2. Marta Krakowski fell in the No. 5 spot (6-4, 6-2) and the Jags forfeited the No. 6 singles match.
 
The lady Jags are now 2-18 and 0-5 in conference play. IUPUI will next face UIndy on April 22 at 3:00 PM.
