CINCINNATI, Ohio - The IUPUI women's tennis team was tripped up at Cincinnati on Sunday (Mar. 20), falling to the host Bearcats by a 7-0 score. The short-handed Jaguars yielded their match at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles as head coach
Jason Suscha's squad was limited to just five players. That group hung tough with a strong Cincinnati (12-3) squad that extended its school record winning streak to 11-in-a-row.
IUPUI (1-12) fell in an early 2-0 hole when the Bearcats won the doubles point via a 6-0 win at the top spot in the lineup.
In singles play, UC's depth overwhelmed the Jags as
Marta Krakowski fell at No. 5 singles by a 6-0, 6-1 score and
Samantha Hayward fell at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1 in the clincher.
Sarah Lounsbury was swept at No. 3 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 score and
Meghan Bernard fell 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Christina Stankovic split sets with the outcome in hand and ultimately fell in the a third set, 10-6 as part of her 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) defeat.
IUPUI will return to action on Friday, Mar. 25 when it takes on Western Illinois at 1:00 p.m..
