INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and Office of Alumni Relations have announced the Hall of Fame Class of 2022, featuring four individuals and a standout team from the program's history. Included in this year's class are former standout student-athletes Kyle Hyland (soccer), Leroy Nobles (basketball) and Marianne Tobolski-Collar (volleyball); coaching legend Chuck Koeppen (cross country / track) and the 2009 IUPUI women's soccer team. All will be officially inducted on Apr. 30, 2022, at the Hall of Fame Dinner.

The group brings the IUPUI Hall of Fame's inclusion to 80 members and five teams.

Hyland was a standout with the men's soccer program from 2009-2012, earning all-league honors his final two years. He was voted to the NSCAA/Continental Tire Second Team All-Midwest Region as a senior after finishing tied for the Summit League lead in goals (8), shots (58) and game-winners (3). He was a two-time league Offensive Player of the Week his senior year and was the league's Male Athlete of the Month for August/September 2012. He closed his career with 72 appearances and 69 starts, tallying 10 goals and 10 assists while playing a wide range of positions. Following his collegiate career, he signed a professional contract with the Columbus Crew in February 2013, becoming IUPUI's first-ever player to earn an MLS roster spot. He then played two seasons for the Indy Eleven of the North American Soccer League (NASL) before moving to the Oklahoma City Energy in 2016 and playing four more seasons and totaling 105 career appearances. All total, he played 140 games in his professional career.

Koeppen originally joined the IUPUI coaching staff in December 2008 and piloted the men's cross country program to five league titles, spanning both the Summit League and Horizon League. He built the IUPUI program into a recognizable name, largely through in-state recruiting and athlete development, ultimately capturing the 2014 and 2015 Summit League titles. The Jaguars later earned three straight Horizon League titles in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Koeppen led the Jaguars to three top-10 finishes in the NCAA Great Lakes Region in cross country and consistent regional rankings throughout his tenure. Individually, he had two student-athletes earn individual league titles in cross country and another earn Horizon League Championship MVP honors during the 2020 indoor season. He coached IUPUI's first-ever NCAA qualifier on the track as former standout Robert Murphy earned a spot in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Nobles finished his four-year career ranked No. 7 on the basketball program's all-time scoring list with 1,446 points, while also ranking among the program's top-10 in threes made (186), free throws made (354) and free throw attempts (446). He ranks No. 2 in minutes played in the Jaguars' Division I era, playing nearly 3,500 minutes in 126 games with 90 career starts. He was named first team All-Summit League as a senior and holds IUPUI's single-game record for points in a conference tournament game with 37. For his career, he averaged 11.6 points per contest and shot nearly 40 percent from three-point range. Collectively, Nobles was part of an incredibly successful run on the hardwood as IUPUI amassed an 86-46 record over his four seasons. The Jaguars won a school record 26 games in 2007-08 and 25 victories in 2009-10, including a postseason appearance.

Collar was a two-time NAIA All-American in her two years in an IUPUI uniform, helping the program to historic heights. Her senior year, she was a third team NAIA All-American and helped IUPUI to a 30-2 mark. However, in 1991, she helped lead IUPUI to an NAIA National Runner-up finish, 40-5 overall record and the NAIA District 21 Bi District X Championship. In doing so, she was named a second team All-American and to the NAIA National All-Tournament Team. Collar was a two-time NAIA District 21 Player of the Year and two-time All-District selection. She was a four-time NAIA District 21 Player of the Week honoree during her prestigious career.

The 2009 IUPUI women's soccer team remains the most successful in program history, racking up a school record 17 victories and rolling through The Summit League Tournament to earn the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. The team opened the season 0-2 before rattling off the nation's longest winning streak of 12 straight victories. That group outscored opponents by a 41-23 margin and registered eight shutouts for the year. In Summit League play, the Jags were even more dominant, outscoring foes by 17-8 margin and shutting out four of nine opponents. That team swept the league's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year awards and head coach Chris Johnson was voted the league's Coach of the Year.
