Cleveland State buried the Jaguars with an avalanche in the opening half, outscoring IUPUI 46-17 in the opening half, capped by a Jayson Woodrich halfcourt swish as time expired. At the other end, IUPUI made just 6-of-27 (22.2 percent) in the opening half and 1-of-9 from three. Fourteen first half turnovers led to 22 CSU points and a 10-0 margin on fast break points.
The Jaguars finished the game at 27.3 percent overall and just 3-of-22 (13.6 percent) from deep. Maxwell connected on 6-of-15 overall and a pair of threes while Isitua did much of his damage at the free throw line where he was 6-of-8.
Seven different CSU players hit at least one trey as the Vikings finished at 12-of-27 (44.4 percent) from three.
IUPUI will continue the opening three-game leg of the stretch of five straight games away from home on Monday night (Feb. 14) when the Jaguars take on UIC at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on ESPN+.
