INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Jaguars celebrated senior day to close out the 2022 season today as they faced the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. The Jags ultimately fell to the Grizzlies in four sets, 3-1. Senior
Allie Pogue ended on a good note totaling 15 kills and two service aces.
In the opening set, the Golden Grizzles came out swinging with a team hitting percentage of .395 with 16 kills to take set one, 25-15. IUPUI fought back in the second set to even the match up at one set a piece with a 25-22 set win. Oakland won the third set, 25-12 to retake the lead. In the fourth set, the Jags fell behind early but fought back to tie it up at 12 with an ace from
Morgan Ostrowski but it wasn't enough as the Golden Grizzlies sealed the victory, 25-21.
Senior Pogue led the Jaguar offense with 15 kills while
Millai Madison totaled nine kills.
Emily Alan and
Briana Brown each added seven kills while senior
Corrissa Remter hit a team-high .308 with four kills. Senior
Darragh Dixon collected 22 assists and 13 digs while
Brooke Phillips led the defense with 20 digs.
The Jags finish the 2022 season 9-21 overall and 3-15 in the Horizon League.
