JAGUARS EARN THIRD STRAIGHT #HLWBB WIN AFTER DEFEATING MILWAUKEE, 63-60

Rachel McLimore led the Jags with 22 points

INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's basketball team earned their third straight #HLWBB game after defeating Milwaukee in a thrilling game on Saturday afternoon, 63-60. The Jags trailed most of the game until the fourth quarter when IUPUI outscored the Panthers 16 to 11. Redshirt senior Rachel McLimore led the charge with 22 points and four rebounds. Sophomore Anna Mortag followed with 12 points and career-tying five rebounds.

"Second straight game where our kids just got better as the game went on," said head coach Austin Parkinson. "Finding ways to get stops there late against a really good team was impressive."

McLimore, Rachel Kent (9 points), Madison Wise (7), Natalie Andersen (5) and Morgan Allen started for IUPUI. McLimore led the team in assists with two while Natalie Andersen added five rebounds. Logan Lewis, along with Mortag, came off the bench and scored a career-high eight points and added three rebounds.

"I thought Logan Lewis gave us great energy off the bench and played with maturity," said Parkinson.

The Jags were without their lead scorer, Macee Williams, and their starting point guard, Destiny Perkins, but IUPUI fought hard and did not let that slow them down. "Not having Macee and Destiny today was a real challenge, but our kids rose to the occasion and played with tremendous heart.

IUPUI finished the game at 38.6 percent (22-for-57) from the floor and 100 percent (13-for-13) from the free throw line. The Jags totaled 29 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and forced 13 turnovers.

The Jaguars go on the road for back-to-back conference games. They travel to Pennsylvania to take on Robert Morris on Jan. 14 at 7:00 PM ET, then head to Ohio to face Youngstown State on Jan. 16 with tip off at 1:00 PM ET. Game coverage will be on ESPN+.
