DAYTON, Ohio – Despite a win at No. 1 doubles, the IUPUI men's tennis team fell to the Dayton Flyers on Friday night (Jan. 28) on the road, 7-0.
Alex Jochim and
Emil Jankowski earned the lone win for the Jags.
The partnership of Jochim and Jankowski came away with a No. 1 doubles win over Dayton's Max DeCurtins and Matt DeMarco, 6-4. The Jags still lost the doubles point as the Flyers went on to win No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Dayton swept the singles competition despite strong efforts from the Jags.
Blessing Benibo had a strong showing at No. 6 singles but fell, 6-4, 6-4. Freshman
Kamil Kozerski lost a close match at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 7-5.
IUPUI will continue their road trip against Chicago State and Purdue on Sunday (Jan. 30) and 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
