INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Wright State on Sunday afternoon, 77-62. Macee Williams followed with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while sophomore Rachel Kent added 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Madison Wise had nine points and six rebounds.

"Today was important for us to start fast because of the last few slow starts," said head coach Austin Parkinson. "Rachel McLimore was tremendous on both ends of the floor."

IUPUI started the game off strong and took the lead early scoring 24 points in the first quarter. Wright State was unable to take the lead as the Jags led for 97.9 percent of the game. IUPUI took their largest lead of 28 with 9:13 left in the fourth quarter.

Starter Natalie Andersen added two points, five rebounds and two assists. Anna Mortag and Alli Berg came off the bench and each added two points and three rebounds.

The Jags finished the game at 44.3 percent (27-for-61) from the floor and 30.4 percent (7-for-23) from behind the arc while holding the Raiders to just 39.7 percent (23-58) from the floor. The Jags outrebounded the Raiders 47-28. IUPUI also totaled five steals and 13 assists.

"We defended well for three quarters which was probably the difference in the game," said Parkinson.
