INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI men's cross country standout
Nate Kaiser has been named the first #HLXC Runner of the Week award winner for the 2021 season after a strong opening race at the Butler Twilight on Friday (Sept. 3). Kaiser finished eighth overall and helped IUPUI to a third-place finish against a stout field that included No. 9 Butler and a tough Cincinnati squad.
Kaiser covered the 6,000m course in a time of 18:18.1 to place eighth of the 69 runners. His time was the quickest ever by an IUPUI runner at the Butler Opener, surpassing the previous mark of 18:22 by Robert Murphy to open the 2016 campaign.
With Kaiser at the top of the lineup, the Jags placed third with 68 points, trailing Cincinnati (25) and Butler (46).
