MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - The IUPUI women's soccer team will enter the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the Horizon League Tournament and face No. 2 Milwaukee (7-1) in the second semifinal on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Central (2:00 Eastern). Sunday's match will be aired on ESPN+ with the winner set to face the winner of No. 1 Northern Kentucky/No. 4 UIC on Saturday, April 17.Â
IUPUI (5-1-2) was the lone team to defeat Milwaukee this season, knocking off the Panthers by a 1-0 count on Mar. 3. Milwaukee-native
Elizabeth Bueckers, who was recently one of two Jaguars to be named first team All-Horizon League, tallied the game-winner off a
Grace Moore assist in the game's 52nd minute.
AP Woodall registered a shutout in net with four stops.Â
The IUPUIÂ defense has been formidable all season long, yielding just three goals in eight games, despite three different keepers seeing time between the posts. Woodall has been the team's primary keeper, registering a 0.33 goals against average in her six starts, while also posting four shutouts. Collectively, IUPUI is allowing just 11 shot attempts per game and just more than four of those are getting on frame. Senior defender
Natalie McNally was voted first team All-Horizon League for her defensive work while senior midfielder
Morgan Rymer was named second team all-league.Â
Offensively, IUPUI closed the regular season by matching its season-high with three goals scored in the 3-0 road win in its season finale.
Miranda Ricks netted the winner and McNally and
Kamryn Benscoter also tallied in the affair. Freshman
Jessica Jacobs finished with two assists and has a team-high four assists on the year.Â
QUOTABLE
"We knew we were at the point in our season where we had to win to keep moving forward. We all agreed we didn't want today to be our last game, so we just went out there and played our hearts out. Every minute was a battle, but all three goals coming from seniors just shows you how badly we wanted it," Ricks said after the season-ending win at Purdue Fort Wayne.Â
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS
IUPUI is 5-1-2 on the year, having allowed just three total scores and having played 400 minutes without allowing a goal on the road. IUPUI has outscored its opponents by a 9-3 margin and is outshooting the opposition by more than two attempts per game. IUPUI's nine goals have come from seven different scorers as
