GREENCASTLE, Ind. – IUPUI got in to the win column in a big way on Sunday (Feb. 28), winning both matches against DePauw. The Jags started the day with a 7-0 win over the Tigers before winning the second match of the day 8-1.
IUPUI 7 – DEPAUW 0
In the first match of the day, IUPUI cruised to a 7-0 win over the Tigers. In doubles play,
Gabrielle Ochalik and
Krystal Grubb took their No. 1 match 6-0.
Meghan Bernard and
Samantha Hayward earned IUPUI the doubles point with a 6-2 in at No. 2.
Sarah Lounsbury and
Ines Rivera completed the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
Lounsbury earned IUPUI's first point in singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3. A 6-2, 6-0 win by
Marta Krakowski at No. 6 put IUPUI one point away from the win.
Samantha Hayward picked up the fourth point for the Jags with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5.
The remaining singles matches also went the Jags way with Grubb winning 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1, Ochalik taking the No. 2 match 6-2, 6-3 and
Meghan Bernard winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4.
IUPUI 8 – DEPAUW 1
To close out the day, IUPUI picked up another win over DePauw, winning all but one singles match. IUPUI won the No. 2 doubles match with Bernard and Hayward winning 8-2 and the teams of Ochalik and Grubb (No. 1) and
Marta Krakowski and Lounsbury (No. 3) each won 8-3.
In singles play, Grubb won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, Lounsbury took the No. 3 match 6-1, 6-1, Bernard earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4, Hayward won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 and Rivera took the No. 6 match 6-4, 6-4.

IUPUI's next time on the court will be against Ball State on Saturday, March 6. The Jags will play two matches against the Cardinals beginning at 2 p.m.
