MUNCIE, Ind. - IUPUI men's tennis had its three-match win streak ended by Ball State as the Jags fell 7-0 to the Cardinals on Friday (Feb. 26).
Ball State took the early lead winning the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 3 and 6-4 win at No. 2. The team of
Alex Jochim and
Emil Jankowski was up 5-2 in the No. 1 match before doubles play was ended.
In singles play, IUPUI lost the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-2 and the No. 3 match 6-2, 6-0. The No. 5 match was won 6-1, 6-2 by Ball State and the Cardinals had enough points to take the match. Jochim took his first set to a tie break at No. 2, losing 7-6 (1) and 6-2.
Eric Hollingsworth went to three sets with but fell 6-7 (4), 6-2, 10-7.
The Jaguars and the Cardinals will meet again on Monday (March 1) in Muncie at 2 p.m.
