WILLIAMS AND MCLIMORE LEAD JAGS PAST DETROIT MERCY, 95-54

Both Williams and McLimore scored over 20 points in the Jags big win.

DETROIT – IUPUI cruised to its 11th-straight win beating Detroit Mercy 95-54 on Thursday (Feb. 6). The Jaguars were led by Macee Williams and Rachel McLimore, who each scored over 20 points.

Williams finished the game with 23 points and 11 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season in just 22 minutes. The junior finished 10-for-15 from the floor. McLimore poured in 21 points, in 19 minutes, on 7-for-12 shooting and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. It is the first time since Nov. 22, 2016 that two Jaguars have scored at least 20 points in the same game.

IUPUI (17-6, 11-1 Horizon) had every player on the roster score and Destiny Perkins tied her season-high with 13 points.

"I am very pleased with the way we came out tonight with energy and focus," said head coach Austin Parkinson. "Our bench really helped elevate our play, led by Destiny's floor game. We moved the ball well with 21 assists, which is a sign of an unselfish team."

Holly Hoopingarner led UIPUI with four assists and four other Jaguars each had three assists.

The Jags finished the game with 40 bench points, outscoring Detroit Mercy's bench 40-17.

IUPUI's 95 points and 41-point winning margin are the both the largest against a Division I opponent this season. The 95 points are the most for the Jags against a DI foe since scoring 96 against Western Illinois exactly four years ago (Feb. 6, 2016).

The Jags started the first quarter big, shooting 59% from the field on route to a 22-8 lead. Williams outscored Detroit Mercy herself in the first ten minutes with 10 points in the quarter.

While the offense cooled in the second quarter, shooting just 33% from the floor, IUPUI increased its lead with a 21-14 advantage in the quarter.

IUPUI came out of the halftime break on fire with 30 points in the third on 11-for-13 shooting (85%). A 9-0 run early in the second quarter with McLimore scoring five and Williams scoring four, pushed IUPUI's lead to 28.

The largest lead of the game came for IUPUI in the fourth quarter with the lead reaching 45 points after a layup by Agatha Beier.

IUPUI used a big advantage inside, outscoring Detroit Mercy 56-32 in the paint. The Jaguars also outrebounded the Titans 45-26. After Williams' 11, Morgan Allen finished the game with eight boards and O'Reilly grabbed seven. The Jags finished the game with a 20-5 advantage in points off turnovers, finishing the game with 11 steals, led by four from Sydney Roule.
