INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI men's tennis got a singles win from Sean Bailey but that was the lone point the Jaguars scored in a 6-1 loss against Marquette on Sunday (Feb.16).
Bailey picked up the win for the Jags in a three-set match at the No. 3 singles spot. After winning the first set 6-1, Bailey fell 0-6 in the second. The junior battled to a 10-8 win the final set to earn the victory.
Fellow junior Ethan Mardanus-Budiono was the other Jag to go three sets but fell in the final frame. Mardanus-Budiono won the first set 6-3 but lost the last two 4-6, 10-12. The other four IUPUI singles matches were decided in straight sets in favor of Marquette.
Marquette earned the doubles point with 6-2 wins in both the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles contests.
