MILWAUKEE, Wis. – IUPUI men's tennis fell to Cardinal Stritch, 5-2 on Friday afternoon (Jan. 31). The Jags got wins from both Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and Sean Bailey in the close loss to the Wolves.

The duo of Mardanus-Budiono and Bailey teamed up for a 6-3 win at the No. 2 doubles spot but that was the only doubles match the Jags would take home. Nicholas Moody and Alex Jochim fell 6-2 in the No. 1 match and Eric Hollingsworth and Michael Koch lost 6-1 as Cardinal Stritch earned the doubles point.

In singles play, Bailey earned a quick 6-4, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot and Mardanus-Budiono earned a hard-fought win at No. 2, 5-7, 7-6(3), 14-12.

Jochim lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 and Koch was defeated 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6. The Wolves earned the match win as Hollingsworth fell in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 and Moody was downed in the No. 5 match 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

The Jags will take on Wisconsin on Saturday (Feb. 1) with the match beginning at 7 p.m.
