INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's tennis earned two singles wins and picked up a victory in doubles play but lost to Western Kentucky 5-2 on Monday (Jan. 20).

Christina Stankovic and Diya Matta teamed for a 6-4 win in the No. 3 doubles match but IUPUI (0-3) lost the doubles point with a 6-3 loss at No. 1 and a 6-1 loss at No. 2.

Krystal Grubb earned her second-straight win, winning by default in the second set after taking the first set 6-3 in her No. 2 match to tie the match 1-1. With the match tied, Western Kentucky (3-0) took the next four matches that finished to earn the win.

Freshman Marta Krakowski picked up her first-career win with a three set victory in the No. 5 spot. Krakowski won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 1-6. In the tiebreak, the freshman was able to pull out a 10-8 win.

IUPUI will be off until next weekend when the Jags will play at Bradley on Friday (Jan. 24) and against Murray State on Saturday (Jan. 25).
