INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's tennis earned a match win from Krystal Grubb but IUPUI fell to Valparaiso, 6-1, on Saturday (Jan. 18).

IUPUI earned a win at the No. 1 doubles match with Grubb and Gabrielle Ochalik teaming for a 6-3 win but the Jags lost the doubles point dropping the No. 2 match 6-2 and the No. 3 match 6-4.

In singles play, IUPUI fell behind early with a 6-1, 6-0 loss by Marta Krakowski at No. 5 and a 6-3, 6-2 loss by Ochalik at No. 1. Grubb got the Jags their only point of the match winning at No. 2 with a 7-6 (7-3) win in the first set and a 6-3 win in set two.

Valpo earned the match win with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Ines Rivera at No. 6. Samantha Hayward was defeated at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2. Sarah Lounsbury earned a 6-3 first set win but dropped the next two sets 6-1, 6-1.

IUPUI will take on Western Kentucky at home on Monday (Jan. 20) beginning at 12 p.m. at the West Indy Racquet Club.
