CARBONDALE, Ill. – IUPUI volleyball will look to build on a win against Purdue Fort Wayne as the Jags will head to Southern Illinois for a weekend tournament against Southern Illinois, Alabama State and Memphis on Friday (Sept. 13) and Saturday (Sept. 14).

The Jags broke a three-match losing streak with a
3-1 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Tuesday (Sept. 10). Fort Wayne, Ind., native
McKayla Wright led the Jaguars offense with 14 kills and added 12 digs for a double-double. The Jags also got nine kills from both
Hannah Oehlberg and
Allie Pogue.

- McKayla Wright leads the Jaguars offense with 84 kills, averaging a team-high 3.36 per set. The senior from Fort Wayne, Ind., has now finished with double-digit kills five of her six matches this year.
- Haley Hoffman leads the Jaguars front line defense with 1.28 blocks per set, including a season-high 10 blocks against Lipscomb
- Freshman Corriss Remter (0.80) and Allie Pogue (0.52) are second and third on the team in blocks per set.
- Sophomore Rachel Hickey leads the Jags with 3.65 digs per set. Two other Jaguars – Rhiannon Schuenemann and Hannah Oehlberg – are averaging more than 3.00 digs per set with 3.44 and 3.10, respectively.
- Junior Rebecca Schlechte leads the offense with 7.72 assists per set and has collected at least 30 assists in five of the six matches this season.

Southern Illinois
- IUPUI is 0-4 against Southern Illinois all-time. The last three matches against the Salukis have all been 3-1 matches in favor of SIU.
Alabama State
- This will be the first meeting all-time between IUPUI and Alabama State
Memphis
- The Jags and Tigers have met once with IUPUI earning the win in a five-set match in Memphis back in 2008.
SCOUTING REPORT
Southern Illinois
- Southern Illinois comes in to the weekend with a 4-3 record having won their last two matches. The Salukis are 3-1 on their home court this season.
- The Salukis are led on offense by Alex Washington with 2.92 kills per set and two other Salukis are averaging over 2.00 kills per frame.
- On defense Laura Rojas leads the team with 1.72 digs per set and Kyra Hunter is tops on the team at 0.71 blocks per set.
Alabama State
- Alabama State is 3-4 on the season but the Hornets have lost their last four matches, all 0-3 sweeps.
- The Hornets are led by Bayle' Bennett with 3.43 kills per set and Madison Beasley is guiding the offense with 7.23 assists per set.
- The Hornets are allowing teams to hit .244 on the season, while only hitting .190 as a team.
Memphis
- Memphis is riding high coming in to the weekend holding a 6-0 record and winning three of those matches in three sets.
- The Tigers are hitting .234 on the season and holding their opponents to a .128 hitting percentage.
- Meredith Wallace leads the offense with 3.61 kills per set and on the defensive end, Sabria Cooper and Andrea O'connor are averaging over 0.80 blocks per set.
