INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's tennis dropped its third-straight Horizon League match, falling 7-0 to UIC on Saturday (April 6).
IUPUI took the first match in doubles play as
Krystal Grubb and
Mariella Pessina won at No. 2, 6-2. UIC then took the No. 3 match 6-4 over
Meghan Bernard and
Samantha Hayward putting the doubles point in the fate of the No. 1 match. The duo of
Christina Stankovic and
Gabrielle Ochalik forced their doubles match to a tie-break before losing 7-6 (7-3) in the No. 1 spot and UIC earned the doubles point.
In singles play, UIC showed its strength, with five of the six sets being decided in straight-sets in favor of the Flames. Stankovic managed to force a third set after losing her first set 6-1 in the No. 1 match by winning set two 6-1 but the freshman fell 7-5 in the final set to give UIC the 7-0 win.

IUPUI will play its final two home matches of the season next weekend as the Jags play host to Milwaukee on Saturday (April 13) before play Green Bay on Sunday (April 14).
