aHIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - IUPUI women's tennis lost its second-straight Horizon League game after falling 5-2 to Northern Kentucky on Friday (Mar. 29). Both of the Jaguars points in the match came in singles play.

IUPUI fell behind in the doubles competition after a 6-1 loss in the No. 2 match but tied up the doubles section with a 6-4 win by Meghan Bernard and Samantha Hayward in the No. 3 match. Coming down the the final match, the No. 1 team of Krystal Grubb and Gabrielle Ochalik fell in a tiebreak, losing 7-6.

In singles play, Bernard continued her strong play on the day winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 to tie the match. After Christina Stankovic retired in the second of her No. 1 match to give NKU another point, Mariella Pessina knotted up the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4. With the match tied at two, things did not go in IUPUI's favor the rest of the way as Ochalik lost 6-4, 6-0, Sarah Lounsbury fell 6-3, 6-3 and Grubb lost 6-2, 6-4 as the Norse closed out the match.

IUPUI will finish its weekend on the road with a match at Wright State on Saturday (Mar. 30) beginning at 4 p.m.
