INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI men's tennis had its four-match winning streak snapped by Butler on Friday (Mar. 22).
After IUPUI lost the No. 2 doubles match, 6-1,
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and
Sean Bailey earned a 6-3 win in the No. 3 match to even up the doubles competition.
Alex Jochim and
Colton Morehart forced a tie-break in the No. 1 match but fell 9-7 in the tie-break, giving Butler the doubles point.
In singles play, Butler quickly won the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 3 singles matches to end the contest. IUPUI earned its lone point of the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win by
Eric Hollingsworth in the No. 6 singles match. At No. 1,
Alex Jochim fell in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-10.
The Jags next match will be on Wednesday (Mar. 27) with a road contest at Ball State, beginning at 3 p.m.
