INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI's women's tennis earned its second win of the season with a 7-0 sweep of Dayton on Friday evening (Feb. 9).

The Jags (2-4) had to battle back in doubles play after dropping the No. 1 match 6-1. Krystal Grubb and Christina Stankovic knotted up doubles play with a 6-2 win at No. 2. The doubles point went in favor of IUPUI after Samantha Hayward and Mariella Pessina took the No. 3 match 6-4.

In singles play, Pessina made quick work of her No. 5 match 6-1, 6-0 and Grubb put the Jags one point away from the match win with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4. The Jaguars took the match as Stankovic won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1.

To complete the sweep, the remaining Jags had a little more work to do. All three Jaguars were forced to go to three sets and got there after dropping the first set. Sarah Lounsbury won her No. 3 match 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 and Gabrielle Ochalik won her No. 2 match 3-6, 6-2, 10-6. To finish the sweep, Meghan Bernard won at No. 6 6-7 (5), 6-3, 10-0.

IUPUI's next matches will be on the road next weekend as the Jaguars will take on Austin Peay on Friday (Feb. 15) and Belmont on Saturday (Feb. 16).
