INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI volleyball will be at home for the weekend with matches against UIC and Milwaukee on Friday (Nov. 1) and Saturday (Nov. 2). The match against UIC will begin at 6 p.m. and the Jags will take on the Panthers at 4 p.m. with the match streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Kappes on the call.
On Friday night, the Jaguars will be celebrating IUPUI Parent & Family Weekend as well as Professor Appreciation Night. Fans will also be able to get a rally towel while supplies last against the Flames. On Saturday, the match between the Jags and Panthers will be IUPUI's Alumni Recognition match and the Saturday Slices match with free pizza for students.
JAG SCRATCHES
- Senior McKayla Wright leads the team with 2.93 kills per set and fellow senior Haley Hoffman is tops on the team with a .285 hitting percentage.
- Rachel Hickey is leading the defense with 4.11 digs per set and Rhiannon Schuenemann is second on the team at 2.85 per set.
- Hoffman's 1.24 blocks per set leads the team and is third in the Horizon League. Hoffman is second in the league during league play with 1.34 blocks per set. Hoffman also leads the conference with 51 total blocks in league play.
- Hoffman has 25 solo blocks on the season, the third-most solo blocks in a single season in IUPUI history.
- In league play, IUPUI has three players in the top ten in service aces. Wright is second (0.42), Regan Trueblood (0.41) and Hickey (0.28).
- The Jaguars have 128 service aces on the season, the second-most in the last five season, sitting behind the 2017 season when the Jaguars finished with 138 service aces.
- The service aces have fallen off for IUPUI in the last few matches. After posting 12 service aces at Green Bay, IUPUI has not posted more than four in the last four matches.
- IUPUI has been outblocked or tied in blocks in each of the last three matches. Before that, IUPUI had outblocked their opponent in five of seven matches.
LAST MEETINGS
vs UIC – IUPUI lost in four sets to UIC in the first meeting of the season. The Jags took the first set 25-18 before losing 25-17, 25-16, and 25-18. In the first set of the match, IUPUI hit .407 and then hit .179, .167 and .103 in the next four sets.
Allie Pogue (12 kills, 14 digs) and
Maddie Dean (11 kills, 18 digs) each posted double-doubles and led the Jaguars on both offense and defense. The Jags allowed UIC to hit .270 for the match, including hitting .303 in both the second and third sets. IUPUI was also outblocked 7-4 by the Flames.
vs Milwaukee – IUPUI was swept by Milwaukee in the first matchup as the Jaguars offense went silent against the Panthers. The Jags hit .000, finishing with 18 kills and 18 errors. The 18 kills are the fewest for IUPUI since IUPUI had 14 kills in a loss against Ohio State on Sept. 9, 2016.
Wright led the Jaguar offense with five kills and Hickey finished with 11 digs to lead the team. The Jagd did finish with eight blocks with Hoffman leading the way with five.
