The IUPUI women's soccer team will begin a pivotal two-game Horizon League push to close the regular season, beginning on Sunday (Oct. 27), when the Jaguars welcome Wright State (10-3-2, 5-2 HL) at 1:00 p.m. at Carroll Stadium. Head coach
Chris Johnson's team currently ranks among the top six teams in the league standings and on pace for a spot in the league's postseason. Wright State enters this weekend tied for second overall at 5-2 with 15 points. Johnson's team will look to reverse a recent trend as the Jags have dropped three of their last four with all three losses coming via shutout. The lone win was a 1-0 overtime victory over Cleveland State as freshman

- Sunday's match will kickoff at 1:00 p.m. at the on-campus Carroll Stadium. There will be no broadcast of Sunday's contest, but live stats will be available at kickoff.
- Admission is just $5 for ages 13-and-up and just $2 for youth, ages 3-12. IUPUI students are admitted for FREE with a valid Crimson Card and parking is FREE during home events in lots 59, 63, 80 and 86.
THE SERIES
- IUPUI is just 1-8 all-time against Wright State with the lone win coming during the Jaguars' 2017 Horizon League Championship season by a 4-3 score. WSU won last year's meeting, 1-0 in overtime in Dayton.
- IUPUI is 1-3 in the four meetings in Indianapolis.
- Six of the eight losses to the Raiders have come via shutout.

- IUPUI enters play at 10-6-1 and 4-3 in Horizon League play. The Jags have outscored foes by a 22-16 margin on the year and blanked eight foes. The Jags are 5-2-1 at home this season and have allowed just five goals at home this season. Only one foe, Northern Kentucky, have scored more than one goal in a game against the Jags at Carroll Stadium this season.
- IUPUI's seven wins before Oct. 1 tied for the third most in program history. The 2017 squad, which won the Horizon League Tournament, had 10 wins heading into the month of October, while the 2009 squad, which won The Summit League Tournament, won eight matches prior to Oct. 1. The 2016 squad also won seven matches prior to Oct. 1 en route to a 9-7-3 finish.
- IUPUI has two different freshmen tally multi-goal games this month as Maya Lacognato scored twice in the 3-0 win at Detroit Mercy (Oct. 6) and Autumn Weeks tallied twice in the 2-1 win over UIC (Oct. 2).
- Freshman Maya Lacognato has tallied a team-high six goals on the year following last Saturday's overtime tally against Cleveland State in the 95th minute. Lacognato has two overtime goals this season, having also done so in her collegiate debut against Toledo. Her two overtime goals rank third on the program's all-time list as both Tara Latella and Megan Hock are tied atop the all-time list with three overtime goals each.
- Junior Valentine Pursey has five goals and leads the Jaguars in assists (6), points (16), shot attempts (56) and game-winners (3).
- Lipka earned her 20th career shutout against Cleveland State on Saturday (Oct. 19) and enters play one shy of tying Hall of Famer Jamie Farrell's career record of 21 clean sheets. She was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 21.
- Pursey earned Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week award on Sept. 16 after contributing to four of the Jaguars' six goals in 3-1 wins over Belmont and Valparaiso. Pursey had two assists in the Jaguars' 3-1 win over Belmont and followed with two goals in the win at Valpo, including the game-winner.
- Redshirt freshman AP Woodall was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 9, recording a 1.00 goals against average and .875 save percentage in the Jaguars' contests against EKU (Sept. 5) and Central Michigan (Sept. 8). She dialed up a scoreless half in the win over EKU and yielded her first goal of the year on a PK in the Jaguars' 2-1 loss at CMU, snapping her personal scoreless streak at 276 minutes to start her career.
- For the season, Woodall has allowed just three goals in 560 minutes, good for a 0.48 goals against average.
- The win at Valparaiso was the 200th of the career of head coach Chris Johnson. Johnson has won 124 matches on the Jaguars' sidelines and collected 81 wins at UIndy from 1994-2002. Johnson is the program's all-time leader in wins (124) and has taken IUPUI to two NCAA Tournaments (2009 & 2017).
- IUPUI is 3-1 this season against Missouri Valley Conference foes with road wins at SIU, Valpo and Evansville before losing at home to Illinois State.
- Pursey has moved into sixth on the program's all-time list with 22 career goals, 12 of which have been game-winners. Her 12 career game-winners are second on the program's all-time list, three shy of tying the school record.
- The Jaguars was picked to finish fourth in the Horizon League preseason polls
- Junior defender Natalie McNally has played a team-high 1,463 minutes in the defensive third this season, nearly 200 more than Pursey's 1,267, which ranks second on the team. McNally has played 94 percent of the team's minutes so far this season.
- The Jags return their top four scorers from a season ago in Elizabeth Bueckers (14 pts), Ricks (11), Pursey (10) and Emma Chambers (8).
- IUPUI returns 10 of 11 starters from last season, including the quintet of Lipka, Pursey, Chambers, McNally and Jenna Sterr, who started all 19 matches a season ago.
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
- Wright State is 10-3-2 overall this season and have outscored their opponents by a 29-20 margin. The Raiders are 6-2-1 away from home this season with true road wins at Western Kentucky, Marian, Bucknell, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky and Green Bay.
- Destiny Johnson leads the WSU attack with nine goals while Brittney Petrosky has five scores. Johnson is tops on the team with five game-winners and 20 total points. Jordyne Helinski has a team-high five assists to go along with four goals and Josie Krupp has three goals and three assists.
- Maddie Jewell has played every second in net for the Raiders, registering a 1.29 goals against average and 62 saves in her 15 appearances.
