INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI volleyball will begin a four-match home stand this weekend against Wright State (Oct. 26) and Northern Kentucky (Oct. 27). The Jaguars will be hosting their annual Dig Pink match against Wright State and will host a canned food drive against Northern Kentucky.
On Saturday, IUPUI will host the Raiders as the Jags will look to raise money for the fight against stage IV breast cancer by partnering with the Side-Out Foundation. IUPUI volleyball has raised over $6,000 in the past four years during the campaign and fans will be able to make cash donations to the campaign at the game. The Jaguars will then host a canned food drive on Sunday when IUPUI takes on the Norse. Fans who bring a canned good will receive a discounted ticket and a chance to play an on court game between set two and three with a chance to win Adidas swag.
Both matches will begin at 4 p.m. and the match against Northern Kentucky on Sunday will be streamed on ESPN+.
JAG SCRATCHES
- IUPUI gets back home after playing five of their last six matches on the road.
- The Jags are led on offense by senior McKayla Wright, who is averaging 2.92 kills per set. Fellow senior Haley Hoffman leads the team with a .270 hitting percentage.
- Rachel Hickey is tops on the Jaguars backline defense with 4.28 digs per set. Rhiannon Schuenemann is second on the team with 2.65 per set.
- Haley Hoffman leads the team at the net with 1.26 blocks per set. Freshman Corrissa Remter is second on the team t 0.95.
- Hoffman currently has 22 solo blocks on the season, which is tied for the fifth-most in the IUPUI school history. Hoffman is eight solo blocks shy of Kaitlyn Hickey's school record of 28 solo blocks, set in 2013.
- Hoffman sits at fifth all-time in total blocks in school history with 330.
LAST TIME AGAINST WRIGHT STATE
- IUPUI was swept 3-0 in the first meeting against the Raiders this season.
- No Jaguar ended up with double-figure kills as Hoffman and Dean each posted eight kills. Hoffman had a very efficient day, hitting .421 for the match.
- Rachel Hickey and McKayla Wright led the defense with 11 digs each.
- IUPUI finished the match with 10 blocks, led by five each from Hoffman and Remter.
- IUPUI was outhit .064 to .138 by the Raiders.
LAST TIME AGAINST NORTHERN KENTUCKY
- IUPUI fell 3-0 at Northern Kentucky in the first meeting of the season.
- IUPUI hit just .053, while Northern Kentucky hit .300 as a team.
- The Jags were led by McKayla Wright with nine kills.
- Hickey finished with a team-high 11 digs and Regan Trueblood had a double-double with 10 digs and 18 assists.
- IUPUI finished with eight team blocks, led by Hoffman with seven, including three solo blocks.
