INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI Women's basketball head coach #
Austin Parkinson# has announced the signing of transfer Rachel McLimore. McLimore will join the Jaguars after playing her first season of college basketball at DePaul.
While playing for the Blue Demons, McLimore played in 30 games and averaged 6.3 minutes per game. The Zionsville, Ind., native scored 2.0 points per game and tallied a career-high 13 points against Delaware State in her second college game.
"We are really excited to have Rachel joining our program and being back in her hometown of Indianapolis," said Parkinson. "Rachel is a talented offensive player who can score in a variety of ways. Her ability to guard multiple positions defensively and attack in transition on offense will be fun to watch. She gained valuable experience this past season winning a Big East Tournament Championships, which will benefit her down the road."
In high school, McLimore was an All-State guard her senior year averaging 21 points and six rebounds for Zionsville. McLimore was also named an Indiana All-Star her senior year and was named to the Indiana All-State team her junior year.
McLimore will have to sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules and will join Destiny Perkins, who transferred from Akron, in a strong 2019 recruiting class for the Jaguars.
