INDIANAPOLIS – In the first ever meeting between the two schools, IUPUI women's tennis was downed by Notre Dame, 7-0.
The Jags duo of
Krystal Grubb and
Mariella Pessina played the closest doubles match, falling in No. 2 doubles, 6-2.
In singles play,
Molly Nguyen put up a fight, losing the No. 5 match 6-2, 6-3 and
Marina Schneiger fell at No. 6, 6-2, 6-2.
Pessina grabbed the game wins in the first set of her No. 4 match before losing 6-3, 6-0. In the No. 1 match,
Valeriia Lavrenchuk was beaten 6-0, 6-2.
IUPUI will play its final two games of the season this weekend with two Horizon League matches. The Jags will take on Cleveland State on Saturday (April 21) at 11:30 a.m. and will finish their season against Youngstown State on Sunday (April 22) at 9 a.m.
