INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department announced four non-conference home basketball opponents for the 2018-19 season, all to be played at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Three of the four opponents come from the state of Illinois and all are return games from the 2017-18 season.
Head Coach #
Jason Gardner#'s squad will host Eastern Illinois (Nov. 10) and Bradley (Nov. 28) in the opening month of the season and Ball State (Dec. 1) and former league rival Western Illinois (Dec. 15) in December. Ball State is coming off a 19-win campaign while Bradley won 20 games, including a victory over national semifinalist Loyola.
Gardner's squad is expected to return three starters in #
Evan Hall# (7.7 ppg, 6.1 rpg),
D.J. McCall (7.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and #
Nick Rogers# (5.1 ppg, 3.0 apg). In addition, rising sophomores #
Jaylen Minnett# (7.1 ppg, 51 3's) and #
Elyjah Goss# (3.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg) will see increased roles next season.
The group of newcomers is keyed by three Division I-transfers who sat out this past season. Junior #
Camron Justice# (Vandy) will immediately bolster the backcourt while senior #
Ahmed Ismail# (Manhattan) will make an immediate impact on the frontcourt. Boston College-transfer #
Mike Sagay# joined the program at the start of the spring semester and is a 6-foot-7 versatile wing player.
Gardner is still working to finalize next season's roster through spring and summer recruiting.
Game times and promotions will be announced at a later date. To purchase tickets to these games and any home IUPUI event, please contact
