INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI swimming and diving will host its last meet of 2018 when the Jags welcome Xavier to the Natatorium on Friday (Dec. 7) at 6 p.m.
The beginning part of the season has been successful for both the men's and women's squad as the women have a 5-1 record in dual meets and the men are 3-2. The women have won their last four dual meets since losing to Cincinnati and the men have won three-straight.
The Jaguar men have owned the freestyle events early this season with senior
Ben Levart holding three top-times in the conference. Levart is first in the 500 free (4:28.23), 1000 free (9:27.57), 1650 free (15:40.99) and third in the 200 free (1:39.89). Teammate
Jackson Sandala owns the top time in the 200 free (1:38.82), third in the 100 free (45.26) and fifth in the 50 free (20.85).
Outside of the freestyle events,
Nick Hanas is second in the league with a school record time of 1:47.30 in the 200 back and the Jags have the second-fastest time in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:45.05.
Three Jags are in the top-five in the men's 3-meter with
Krisztian Somhegyi second (364.65),
Mitch Mastey in fourth (342.60) and
Patrick Tener in fifth (327.15). Tener's score of 319.43 in the 1-meter is second in the league and Somhegyi is fourth with a season-high of 314.78.
The women have two top times in the conference with
Olivia Treski holding the top time in the 1000 freestyle (10:14.48) and
Mallory Buha in the 100 fly (54.51). Buha is also second in the 100 back with a time of 54.76, as is Treski's time of 17:06.81 in the 1650 free.
IUPUI's women's program also holds the second-fastest time in seven other times in the Horizon League:
The women's best event this season has been the 500 free where the Jags hold the third (Treski, 5:01.96), fourth (
Meagan Ronci, 5:02.06), fifth (
Sydney Kermath (5:02.54) and seventh (
Rachel Metzger, 5:02.57) times in the Horizon.
On the boards,
Rylee Dahlman holds the second-best score in the 3-meter (272.25) and fourth-best in the 1-meter (255.15). Teammate
Blaire Wills is currently third in the 3-meter (262.28) and sixth in the 1-meter (245.78).
