INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team looks to build on its perfect start in Horizon League play on Friday night (Sept. 30) when the Jaguars host Green Bay at 4:00 p.m. at Carroll Stadium. The match will be broadcast on ESPN3 as Morgan Adcock (pxp) is on the call. Admission is FREE for IUPUI students with a valid Crimson Card and adult tickets are just $5.
The IUPUI men's team will face UIC immediately following Saturday's women's contest.
IUPUI (9-3, 3-0 Horizon) has ripped off eight straight wins dating back to the start of the month and opened Horizon League play with three straight wins. The bulk of the credit goes to the defensive group as IUPUI has yielded just two goals during the winning streak. Sophomore goalkeeper
Sophia Lipka has posted six shutouts during the eight-game winning streak and owns seven clean sheets on the year. Freshman
Natalie McNally has asserted herself as one of the elite backs in the Horizon and leads the squad with 1,032 minutes played. Sophomore
Jenna Sterr has stepped up in her first year as a starter in the defensive third while
Sarah Jacobs has played a critical role in the team's success.
For the season, Lipka has a 0.73 goals against average and .864 save percentage to accompany her 9-3 record.
Offensively, senior
Krissy Kirkhoff had an assist and the game-winning goal in Wednesday's win over UIC while junior
Jessica Flores tallied her first career goal to give the Jaguars an early lead. Senior
Hayley Shelton assisted on both scores for her fourth and fifth assists of the year. Kirkhoff and Shelton lead the team with five assists each while freshman
Valentine Pursey has a team-high four goals, including three game-winners.
IUPUI has outscored opponents 15-9 on the season and 12-2 during the current winning streak.

CHART CLIMBING: Kirkhoff and Shelton are tied with Kalli Shepler-Tucker for the program's all-time lead in assists with all three having connected on 16 assists in their careers. Kirkhoff is now third on the program's all-time list in career points with 68 (26 goals, 16 assists) overall. Megan Hock (2008-11) has the program's all-time mark with 74 points (32 goals, 10 assists).
SCOUTING GREEN BAY: Green Bay is 2-7-1 overall and 1-1-1 in Horizon League play on the heels of an impressive double overtime draw at Milwaukee. The Phoenix have been tough defensively this season, allowing a 1.47 goals against average, despite utilizing four different goalkeepers. Kelly Kent has played the majority of the team's minutes with a 0.83 goals against average in five appearances. Offensively, Carli Vogel paces the attack with two goals and 15 shot attempts and both of her scores have been game-winners. Alyssa Barnes has a team-high two assists. Green Bay has wins over Chicago State (4-1) and Oakland (1-0), both of which came at home earlier this month.
INSIDE THE SERIES: IUPUI is 0-1-1 all-time against Green Bay, having earned a 1-1 draw at home on Aug. 23, 2013 and losing in Green Bay, 3-1 on Aug. 22, 2014. Jacobs, Kirkhoff and Shelton all appeared in that match off the bench.
