EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The IUPUI women's soccer team will continue its quest for its first win of the season when the Jaguars take on Evansville and Eastern Kentucky this weekend. The Jaguars will trek south to play Evansville on Friday night (Aug. 25) before returning home to host Eastern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 27) at 1:00 p.m.
Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN3 as Scott Agness will describe the action for Sunday's contest.Â
Head Coach
Chris Johnson dropped a pair of 2-0 outcomes last weekend, falling at home to Eastern Illinois and on the road at Valparaiso. The Jaguars had comparable shot totals to both opponents, including outshooting the Panthers 15-11 in the opener. Freshman
Valentine Pursey leads the team with seven shot attempts while senior
Krissy Kirkhoff has fired six attempts. The two have combined on seven of the team's 10 shots on goal through two games.Â

Scouting Evansville: Evansville is 1-1 to start the year, having lost to SEMO (2-0) before beating UT Martin (2-1). Nicki Baham had a goal and an assist in the win over UTM while Sara Osinski tallied the Aces' game-winner. Goalkeeper Michaela Till owns a 1.50 goals against average and seven saves through two games. Â
Scouting EKU:Â EKU is 0-1-1 after the season's opening weekend and will play at Kentucky on Thursday night (Aug. 24). The Colonels lost at Northern Kentucky 2-1 before playing Chattanooga to a scoreless draw. Emmi Carroll has EKU's lone goal of the season and is second on the squad with four shot attempts. Jordan Foster leads EKU with 10 of the team's 23 shots. Goalkeeper Anna Hall has played all 200 minutes thus far, amassing a 0.90 goals against average and seven saves.Â
Inside the Series: IUPUIÂ is 3-4-1 all-time against Evansville and won last year's meeting, 1-0 in double overtime at Carroll Stadium. Sunday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between IUPUI and EKU in women's soccer.Â
